This was a much improved performance from Dub and a clean sheet to boot. Liam Gillen took over the goalkeeping duties and his back four looked every bit as good as last season. First half goals from Sean Mullan and Cormac Kernan gave Dub a commanding lead.
The second half saw the introduction of crunchie and the promising youngster; Ryan Mercer. Rumour (and birth certificates) suggest he is half the age of Liam McCollum! Sean Doherty headed home from close range before Sean Mullan scored a glorious lob in the second half after Art Krnan had dispossessed a defender. Shane Murphy showed a willingness to push forward and get on the score sheet when he got on the score sheet on the hour mark.
Rose & Crown Man of the Match; Sean Mullan
